Ryan Gilbert

Ryan has over 27 years in law enforcement. For 15 years Ryan was employed by the Village of Mishicot (WI) Police Department, having served as police chief and as a patrol officer. During that time, Ryan volunteered as  an Emergency Medical Technician for the Mishicot Ambulance Service. Prior to that position, Ryan worked for the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department for 8 years as a corrections officer and deputy and for with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a LTE Park Ranger for 3 years. In 2017, Ryan accepted a position as Criminal Justice Instructor  at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay (WI) and currently works part-time as patrol officer for Elkhart Lake Police Department.

Ryan possesses a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Master of Science in Organizational Performance. In 2012, Ryan graduated from the FBI National Academy (Quantico, VA) earning his advanced leadership certificate. Only 1% of senior law enforcement are chosen to attend the academy.

Ryan has attended specialized trainings such as Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings (New Mexico Tech), Law Enforcement Protective Measures¾Weapons of Mass Destruction (Center for Domestic Preparedness), Weapons of Mass Destruction–Incident Command Course (Center for Domestic Preparedness).

Ryan’s experience includes  police department management & employee supervision, emergency medical technician, ordinance and policy development, resolving abatement issues, grant writing and various community service projects including working with Mishicot’s youth to raise money and construct a village skate park.
