Rick McMahan has been in federal law enforcement for over 24 years. From 1992 until 1998, Rick was a Special Agent with the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). He worked person and property crimes on various Air Force bases, as well as supporting AFOSI’s counter-intelligence and white collar crime programs. In 1998, Rick joined the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
As an ATF Senior Special Agent (SSA) Rick has worked a variety of cases within ATF’s mission—-investigating interstate firearms traffickers, case agent handling an undercover operation into outlaw motorcycle gangs, as well as conducting a murder for hire sting, just to name a few. Rick is a certified firearms instructor, and has served as an on-the-job trainer for new agents.
In his free time, Rick enjoys writing and has had his work published, including twice having stories selected for Mystery Writers of America (MWA) anthologies (DEATH DO US PART edited by Harlan Coben and VENGEANCE edited by Lee Child).
